About Us

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Northwest Wireless Association is to promote and advance the common interests of the members of the wireless communications industry by:

  • Educating the industry, community and public officials
  • Providing a unified voice for state and local legislative and regulatory issues
  • Cultivating and fostering relationships among the members of the wireless industry, and making a positive contribution to our community through charitable giving.

Background

The Northwest Wireless Association (NWWA) was founded in September of 2007 to coordinate the efforts of the people and companies who provide wireless services in Washington and Oregon. NWWA’s members are devoted to giving back to their community while they work to create a more “wireless friendly environment.

NWWA hosts educational conferences that are tailored to touch on the various interests of our constituents. The goal is to offer educational classes that appeal to all aspects of wireless site development, whether working in the field or in the office. Past conferences have offered NWWA members training topics such as:

  • Fall Protection
  • Passive Intermodulation
  • Long Term Evolution
  • CPR Training
  • Permitting and Land Use

NWWA’s charitable efforts vary from very local efforts to national causes. Besides the annual golf tournament, examples of other Charitable Events have included:

  • Adapt Engineering hosted an NWWA fundraiser to raise donations for the family of a worker who died in a tragic fall from a rooftop facility;
  • The Northwest Wireless Association donated more than 100 toys to Toys For Tots as a result of the annual holiday party.

The crown jewel in the association’s fundraising campaign is its annual golf tournament. The day-long tournament and dinner resulted has resulted in more than $12,000 a year in donations to Children’s Hospital in Seattle.

Staying true to our mission of offering members a forum for networking, NWWA hosts monthly mixers at venues throughout Seattle, Bellevue and Portland.

NWWA strengthens its members’ lobbying voice so that the laws governing wireless systems will reflect customers’ growing demand for wireless coverage that is fast, reliable, and affordable. Particularly in an environmentally-conscious region like the Pacific Northwest, there is a pressing need for our the wireless industry to have a clear voice of reason. NWWA hopes to serve its members by educating the decision-makers who write and enforce the various laws which affect our industry.
